What You Can Expect

The annual salary will be between £28,000 to £31,000

You’ll start with 20 days of holiday (plus bank holidays) and an additional day off for your birthday even if it falls on the weekend.

We also offer a holiday bonus program so you will gain an additional day's holiday for each year spent at MAP for up to 5 years.

We always close from Christmas Eve to New Year and as a bonus, you won’t need to use any annual leave entitlement for this period, so everyone can fully recharge and enjoy the festivities with friends and family.

There is some flexibility as to when you work AND, because all our clients are fully cloud-based, we

offer hybrid working where up to 60% of your working month can be spent working remotely after successfully passing probation.

What You Will Mainly Be Responsible For

In this role, you will work in a small team alongside a highly experienced Payroll Manager, assisting with the processing of payrolls of varying sizes and complexities, and managing client relationships.

The work means you will gain a much broader deeper understanding of how to support modern businesses, progressing onto more complex work including P11Ds and PSAs.

Day-to-Day Duties Include:

  • End to end processing of payrolls for small to medium-sized businesses and ensuring accuracy.

  • Calculating payments and deductions, including SMP and SPP.

  • Managing client portals on BrightPay Connect.

  • Reconciling client PAYE accounts.

  • Preparing payments via a bank file/Telleroo.

  • Speaking to third parties such as HMRC and pension providers.

  • Communicating with clients regarding their queries and providing exceptional support.

  • Posting payroll journals to Xero.

  • Processing auto-enrolment pension submissions and managing other client auto-enrolment duties.

  • Checking for auto-enrolment opt-outs and managing related documentation.

  • Uploading pension schedules to pension portals.

  • Emailing PAYE and auto-enrolment liabilities to clients.

  • Processing HMRC submissions and ensuring compliance.

  • Sending payroll information requests to clients and following up as needed.

  • Supporting in maintaining payroll email inbox

This Exciting Opportunity Will Suit You If:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working within an end-to-end payroll processing position.

  • BrightPay experience is desirable

  • Up-to-date knowledge of current payroll legislation.

  • Experience of Payrolling Benefits is desirable

  • Passionate about payroll and providing exceptional service to clients.

  • Currently undertaking a payroll qualification is desirable.

  • Strong numerical skills and a high level of attention to detail are essential.

  • You will be in direct communication with clients so excellent verbal and written skills will be

  • required at all times.

  • You will be expected to manage and prioritise your own workload, therefore strong time

  • management and organisational skills will be essential for this role.

  • We are looking for a self-starter with a strong work ethic, who is able to make decisions and

  • run with tasks and projects with minimal input.

  • You will be part of the 35-person MAP team and will need to be a strong team player to

  • ensure we provide as a collective, a world-class service to all clients.
